Question:   Has your studio done any major label projects?
Answer:   Yes, in fact, several recent releases were recorded and mixed at Rex Trax by Paul Cobb, our 17 year veteran sound engineer. Paul recently worked on Mr. Mike's "Piping Hot" album and also did Mastering for Erick Sermon/20 East.

Question:   Can I hear a demo of projects produced at Rex Trax?
Answer:

Absolutely! Please contact us for a demonstration. You can also visit our projects site for low-fi MP3 audio samples. Please note that low-fi MP3s don't sound as good as the real thing. We have hi-fi MP3s coming soon.

Question:   When will I receive a CD of my music/audio once it has been recorded?
Answer:   The audio engineer assigned to your project can burn audio to CD at any point during your session. However, please note that the service is performed on the clock as part of your session time so we recommend saving a little time before your session ends for the engineer to burn anything you would like to disc as well as burn your entire session (raw recording tracks) to CD or DVD (depending on file size). Burning your raw tracks to CD or DVD media ensures that your session is permanently saved should you need to work on the individual tracks again.

Question:   What are your rates?
Answer:   Please see our rates page.

Question:   Do you offer mastering and what is the rate?
Answer:   Yes we offer mastering in house. Our rate is $15 per minute of audio.

Question:   How much does it cost to make a demo?
Answer:   Studio time is charged by the hour or by a block of time. We are fast and efficient on our end but the time it takes could vary depending on how long it takes the artist to perform all parts correctly and how many punch-ins are required? Usually a demo consists of 3 songs. Full bands should plan on a full day of tracking and a rough mix and an additional half day for final mixing.

Question:   How do I schedule a session?
Answer:   Please contact us to schedule a session. Weekends generally book two weeks in advance. It is sometimes possible to get in on short notice. We require at least 50% down to lock in a session date. We accept MasterCard and Visa over the phone or if you prefer you can send a check or money order to our office. You also have the option to purchase studio session hours online.

Question:   I want to record a full album for release. How long will it take?
Answer:   All projects are unique, however, we've concluded that the average amount of time it takes to track, mix, and master a 45 minute independent release is equal to 50 hours of tracking and mixing with an additional 10 hours of mastering. We've put together a package price that should allow you to achieve your album goals. We've done the math and are certain that this is the best deal you can get on a professionally recorded album. We can also handle all of your digital imaging needs to produce a cutting edge CD and packaging. We are one of the few places that develop and manufacture interactive and enhanced audio CDs.

Question:   Do you make beats?
Answer:   We have a network of session producers that can help you. Depending on what your needs are, we may be able to assist you in-house.

Question:   What other services do you offer?
Answer:   We offer a variety of other services to help you achieve your recording goals. These services include audio mastering, interactive and enhanced CD design, CD package design and manufacturing, digital photography/imaging, web design/development, and more. Please browse our site for more information.
